Default zv4 in a short box

I am trying to build a box with the correct specs according to Sundowns site, however according to them the box needs to be 17" tall..... I need to shrink it down to 15" tall max. I can simply make the box longer, or wider to make up for the difference in height, my question is does that change things like tuning? I am not a guru on building boxes, this is only my second one, I usually just build them to the specs they post. Extremely new at this but you have to start somewhere.

Z v.4 Rev.2

Here is a quick link to what they recommend.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the whole idea is to keep the total airspace the same, so you can take 2" off the height and multiply that 2" by the length and width to get the area you are subtracting.
When you adjust the other dimensions you need to make that airspace back, if you are adjusting a side with a slot port though you will change tuning and port velocity.
If you can keep the slot dimensions and length the same, and the enclosure volume the same, it can be any shape.

If you have a 15, that might not work since the outer diameter is 15.5"

It is a 12. I just realized I was changing the demention of the port. So as long as the port is the same volume, it does not matter?

To a point it is ok, as long as you make it too narrow. Narrow slot causes issues.

Also make sure to use 16 inches per cube on the zv4. They love it lol

I will post the pictures and detentions here in a bit. Then you can tell me if I screwed it up or not. However the box is finished, and the next step is rhino liner.

Very well said craiggus365 , couldnt have done it any better myself. I would play around with RE audio calculator to get your demensions down and port area within 10% of reccomended and you should be good. It will give you all you need to get it done right.
