Default Sub touching Alum aero port... UPDATE: INSTALL COMPLETE

FINISHED INSTALL: pics on page 2

Will this effect the performance of the sub at all... like will the magnetic pull towards the alum port have any effect?? bad idea?? shouldnt matter?? or alum isnt magnetic?

The sub drops in, but just BARELY grazes the side of the port right at the end... might be a vibration issue, but im just worried about the magnet issue

sexy 10.5" aero aint it!

It's aluminum, right? Aluminum is non-magnetic so that's not going to be an issue. The bigger issue will be the port clattering against the sub.

can you not just grind down the outside edge where it would be touching the sub?

I cant get the picture to load and I can't see much from the thumbnail image so it's hard to tell.
EDIT, nvm, now I see the two other pics...I thought you were talking about mounting the sub next to the port(like sub up port up type of thing)
just about anything you do to prevent it from rubbing can wear through over time, like tape, wouldn't take much rubbing at all to get through the tape and start making it rub again. Depending on how much vibration there is...

Take foam gasket strips and apply it to the port edge. That will keep it from making noise.

Should have flipped that baffle around.

You want the subs as far from the port end as possible.
