Default what to do with 7 cu. ft.

I have a 2009 GMC Canyon with a Sundown X-8. It's a great little sub, but I miss my old RF Power 415's I had back in the day. So a quick Eyeball of the back seat tells me around 7 cu. ft. What are the tradeoffs with running 2 15's ported in 7 cubes vs 3 12's or 4 10's? I seem to remember high quality 15's being... effortless? Not sure what to call it, but the PWR-415's would play anything thrown at them, loudly. I'm looking at soundqubed HDS-315, Sundown E 15, similar...

I'm running 2 10s sealed firing up on my back bench seat in my f150 on about 100w each and I'm content.
2 15s ported on 1500 each is my next step. but I gotta kep the seat and be able to remove the sub box.

good luck man.

2 Sundown E15's on about 1kw in that airspace would be rad. If you can get at least 6 net after port and sub displacement, tuned to the low 30's, you'll be happy with them. I loved mine in 3 net tuned to 30 off a CT 900.1 at 1 ohm. Took the power well.

My budget is $400 for the subs, but I'm flexible. If there is a phenomenal gain to be had for $450, I'll just save a little more. I guess my true question is,will the displacement of 2-15's in an undersized box outperform 3-12's or 4-10's in more optimum boxes?

As far as amps go, I'm looking at the PPI Black Ice BA2600.1. 1300 watts into 1 ohm should do the trick, if I sell my punch's (2-P450.4 and 1-P250.2)

The larger the sub the more efficient. 4 10s will equal 2 15s for the most part but only if each sub receives the same power. It'll take half the power with the 15s, or a fourth with an 18.
