Default Simple ported enclosure questions... Help meh!

I do not have access to a computer or modeling software.

I've exhausted myself searching thru pages of "enclosure calculators" and "port formulas" on my not-so-smartphone.
Also, had difficulty regarding dramatically different answers on port length, between different websites..

I have 5cuft gross box. 4.46cuft net. Desired tuning, 32hz. Sub xmax 23mm, 18" diameter, F(s)30.4hz... What is proper amount of port area? And what is the port length if PD= 4" 18.5"?
Length? PD= 6.25" 18.5"?

Any help is appreciated!! Also, stupid ?... For a recommended enclosure size (manufacturer recommends 5.5cuft for ported) is that including port displacement, or excluding? As in do I need a 5.5cuft box, then to tune I add on a specific length of port to the 5.5? Or is it 5.5cuft including PD? As in 5.5cuft total, regardless of Port displacement? Don't know why I'm confusing myself. . ..
Lastly, if anyone wants to model my box in winisd or similar... How much response is lost or how is the response curve affected by losing 1cuft tuned to 32hz?
Recommended 5.5cuft ported
Fs 30.4
Sd 1217
Qts .661
Qes .718
Vas 185.6L
Le 3.5
Xmax 23mm
DC Level 3 18" dvc
Re 3.6
Clean power from 500w - 1500w (doesn't matter)

But my box is roughly 30"20"20" external, .75" MDF. More accurate would be 4.9cuft gross.

Android ftw. Thanks for that! If anyone has input regarding response curves for my sub in the [email protected] vs. [email protected], that would also be very welcome.
Btw, there aren't any modeling apps to measure output, impedances, etc. are there? (Really need to fix my computer)

winISD is free and will model all of that. Of course, the predicted frequency response/amplitude will be moot once you put the enclosure in a vehicle but it can help show some differences.

As for the difference in port length from different calculators, the problem might be with the end correction due to having a slot port. If the calculator thinks the 18.5" dimension is the "shared wall" it will calculate the end correction incorrectly and give you a very short port length. Try reversing the 18.5" and 4" dimensions in the calculator and see what happens.

Assuming the same tuning frequency, a larger box will have more gain around the tuning frequency than a smaller box. I would model it for you but I just had to reinstall win10 and haven't installed a lot of programs.

I haven't studied enough to understand cabin gain, and loading and box rise or anything similar. Just wanted to compare expected results with actual ones so I can begin learning.

One issue:
Is the calculator @carstereo.com regarding minimum port area the proper way to determine area? Calculations accurate?
It uses SD, Xmax, and desired tuning. Or is it still the 12"-16" cu.in. per cu.ft.? Can't measure Mach levels or noise without winisd..

woofer box calculator for android works well for this. it shows cabin gain, magnitude , spl, impedance and excursion. love that app...

The CT sounds app for Android works pretty good too. That's my mobile go to app.
