Default Dual 12 sub box for a 2003 Chevy 1500 ext

Hey guys, my buddy wants me to make a box that will replace his center counsel/ storage.
He wants it from his dash to the back of the driver seat giving me 35" in length,15.5" in height and 14"width. I told him let's build it longer or have the subs inverted but he's on the fence about that.
He's told me shops usually make boxes for these trucks in a 4th order but I told him it's not enough space for a proper size 4th order for two 12" subs .
I told him let's do a 6" aeroport firing towards the rear seats near the floor and the subs facing up right next to him. Each sub will have roughly 1500rms (clean) and he has a 250 amp alt and will get two decent size agm. Probably xs3100's. He listens to rap and plays it loud 99% of the time
What do you guys think?

That is 3.4 ft^3 before port and sub displacement given that the material is .75" thick and you do not do more than one layer of wood. Imho, that seems a little small for an enclosure that is for two twelves.

I wanted to make it to 39" long with 17" of port length.
Space is tight but I told him it's worth it. So do you think it will sound good with the subs facing up and the port firing towards the rear?

Even at 39" your like 3.8 cubes after sub and port displacement you gonna be 3 cubes or less...like colorblind that's pretty small unless you plan on throwing a lot of power at them!

Each sub will have close to 1.6cf^3
The recommended is 1.5-2 @ 35hz
Maybe having then inverted is another option...
I told him a blowthrough is another option but kind of a waste with only two 12's....

Personally i think thats right on the money, 1500 clean watts per sub you would want those sa's on the small side of its recommended box size. (Plus its not THAT small) 6" port is perfect too...i would tune them to 34-35hz since he likes it loud. That should sound clean as fuuuhhk

Subs so close to head, bleh, go for blowthough, 4th or series 6th. Can always cut the hole out bigger in the future.
