Default Volume of octagon?

Can someone tell me the outer dimensions needed to get a 1.7-1.8 cube sealed octagon enclosure? I want to see how much more space 4 of them would take up compared to a single common sealed chamber

Max dimensions would help in designing each octo to capitalize on space, but assuming a regular octagon with constant depth.

To get you in the ballpark it will be

Vol of each octagon =4*length of side*("diameter" of octagon)*depth

the diameter will be the distance form the midpoint of one side to the midpoint of the side directly opposite. This version for the volume should make it a tad easier to play around with the numbers to fit your dimensions

Assuming I did the basic maths right. Maybe someone else can check or I can check tomorrow after I catch up on sleep. Also keep in mind you still have to worry about thickness of the wood.

Thanks. That was my issue was the thickness of the wood. I need to have an outer dimension of 16", just barely large enough for the subwoofer. Just don't know what dimension to cut each side nor the depth

Edit: I got the outer dimensions. Sometimes you just need to ask questions out loud and you'll figure it out.

Edit 2: I just did the volume of a cylinder, used 7.25 for a radius and found my depth. Not sure how much the volume in the corners will add up to but I'm going to guess it will be negligible

You can find a surface area calculator and multiply the surface area by how long the octo is /1728.
