So, as ive gone from slot to aero ports iv'e noticed that the less port area the more the sub comes close to bottoming out. You get more movement with small port area of an aero but at lower power. Both really sound the same but the smaller port area of an aero sems to put my sub in jepordy of bottoming out and blowing. My subs are very soft low fs stereo integrity home theater subs. I never had a problem with them coming close to bottoming out in my old slot box that was 57sq in of port area...now same size box but with a 6" aero, im bottoming out like a mother****er! Cant really tell a big difference in sound between the two. Other then the coil smacking the back plate. Is this because they are soft and the less port area has exploited that or is it better to run large port area when over powering subs?
