with a longer vehicle, your cabin peak will be lower if you have the port firing to the rear.

How is it will smaller vehicles? Like a sedan with the sub firing into the cabin.

It doesn't change the tuning
It changes the cabin peak
Unless you put the port close enough to a wall that it acts as part of the port

If you want 28hz tuning tune the box to 28 and it will get low

Playing around with box confirmation and placement is much cheaper and beneficial than a total overall. Testing and placement is top tear with learning a specific vehicle.

fits more subs, powerful suspension. If a van was meant to carry eight 200lb people, it can carry a big system no problem.

In my sienna I'm tuned to 36hz and it still plays down to 19hz subs up port back. Peaks around 38-43hz where i like it but hits 22hz hard as well. In smaller cars I find it a lot harder to hit the lower notes anywhere as authoritive.
