Default weird issue with peak frequency

i have a dbl layer box tuned to 33 hz , previous subs were crossfire 8c7 -12 and peak frequency was 50-55 depending where i position the box . although box peaked higher it seemed to be normal played lows .

now i switched over to sundown 8 sa 12 and my peak went down to 30-31 depending where i position the box , i think this is very odd .

box is 48 w x 36 d x 25 tall double layer 3/4 birch all around, baffle is triple but subs are counter sunk . 4 -8 " aero 22" long . subs up port back . if im doing math correct tune is 33 hz with 13.75 sq in per foot and 14.77 net i only have a 5/8 rod top to bottom so i just did .25 for brace and displacement i figured 1.12

any info would be appreciated .

My math just basic adding up box dimensions minus the 2 extra layer of baffle/ sub displacement and port volume. I came up with 16.9 cu.ft net and I added up all 4 inch port area to roughly 208 sq.in. So with that I got 31.2 hz. This is all rough math not exact number but very close like 98% with in your actual box specs. But human error can be somewhere in there. I don't have my tablet to cross reference on Torres box calculator

i say its seems clsoe enough . still i dont understand how subs peak lower than actual tune . i mean the crossfire subs were in the same box and peak was 50 hz so i dont get why sundown dropped to 30 hz.

i ran a sweep with the termlab twice and its was at 30 . only thing i can think of subs were not fully broken in but usually they play higher not lower idk

From my experience I notice a whole difference in bandwidth from ai death penalty to hdc3 peak went up but I didn't have a meter to see how to be exact. But sounded totally different. As for peaking below box tuning I would think because it's load off the rear panel.

Coul be from not being broken in. Parameter are different/motor force and all. But it's confusing if they both graph the same and then totally sound different. Something I won't understand fully. Guess I will take a physics coarse or get some lesson on sound acoustic

i understand they will sound different .
its weird becuase 1 it peaks very low and i got a 155 @ 55 hz sealed on the dash and now i did a 155 at 31 hz . i have never been able to get my van louder on low frequency. i usually shoot for 35-36 tune and peak 45hz - . this particular box peaked high with the crossfire and reverse really low with the sundown .

in both scenario vehicle was the same as was box position

its weird jacob , thought its odd as well

Did you try any higher?
Maybe your van peaks near 60 but is hitting a second peak an octave below

i never did go up quite that high . i think i did up to 55 with all 4 ports plugged and found 41 was the resonant frequency . i then started opening ports 1 by one and score keep going up considerably and peak down by like 1 hz. the last port removed gave me little gain but dropped peak way down
