Default Opinions on box for Kicker l7

Hello Im the new guy. Im looking for opinions on what kind of box i should build for a 10'' kicker l7 solo baric. What box will work the best for this sub. It's going in a ford expedition so size is not a problem. It has been installed for days. I bought it used and the box it came in is junk. Sealed box but it holds air life a cargo net. So what are your thoughts. Thanks

Really depends on what kinda music you listen to/what you're looking for.

I recommend a 4th order bandpass since you have lots of space
You should have about 48" x 30" x 20" total before leaving room for your amp and maybe a battery.

I listen to everything from heavy metal to rap but not much country. I like the low vibrating bass and the double bass drum thump.

Wow, why so big? That's a big box. What is the benefit of a box that big? I'm just asking your the expert. Kicker specs say large sealed 1.25cubic ft and large ported 2.25 cubic ft. I know what a 4th order is but why 16.6 cubic ft. Im not understanding that. And what freq would that be tuned to?

i'm not sure either. But I guess that is only answer he has. I don't much about 4th order or 6th order bandpass boxes. That's why I came here. I can build the box, I just don't know about the design. I'm in the right place to discuss this right.

Looking at the manual they recommend 2.25ft with 33.75sq in of port area by 18 long...comes out to 42hz on the12volt.com calculator which may or may not be right but thats what I usually use. 42hz would sound like shit in my opinion so Id go for 32hz which would bring the port to 34 3/4 long.
