Default Recommended Ported Box for '05 RE XXX?

Does anyone know the recommended volume and recommended frequency for tuning on the 05 XXX?

I don't know if it differs from the '08 model recommendations listed on the website.

Can anyone help me out?

Needing a simple ported box for a single 05 XXX basically. I want the box to be able to fit in most cars, ie, Nissan Altimas, Pontiac Grand Prix, etc. I figure since it's only about 3 cubes, that should be easy, although I don't know myself the standard heights/lengths/widths needed.

Also, anyone know of a good box builder that could do this for me? The sub is quite heavy and would need to be made sturdy with possible bracing needed. Anyone know of how I can talk to Thumper or Fischer?

Oh durr, 12".

Yes, daily beating, will have an Orion 2500D on it.

Yah I figured the 08 and 05 were different, since they look so different. I also heard you could make a box specially built for the sub and was wondering if such a design was mastered for the 12" XXX.

Plus with it being so heavy, it seems like extra bracing would be necessary. I'd like someone who's built a box for one of these subs before do it, as I'd hate to have it built and have it fail (because of weight).

I would tune low, prolly around 32 hz. Put it in 2.5 cubes and call it a day. I wouldn't be worried about the box failing because of weight. If you build it right you should be fine.

Ok, thanks! 2.5 is better than I expected too, I figured that sub recommended 3 cubes ported to get optimal SPL, and that would make it harder to fit in most trunks. 2.5 will fit in almost anything. If that's really the optimal, then that's awesome. You also think 32 is low enough? My current setup is Stereo Integrity BM's at 34 hz and it's really punchy bass. At loud volumes you feel it in your head, and it's a fast vibrating i can't really explain but I don't like. Sounds awesome at mid volumes, but up high i don't like it so much, which is why i'm looking for a sub/box that hits lower.
