Default 4th order sub access...

Does any one have a design with a 4th order that you can access the sub easily if needed.

My space is 35wx30dx20t so no a wall a box. Just hate not being able to get to my sub easily if I wanted to like a normal ported box.. But I want to be sure it's sealed back up if I have to take the top off or something.

Any ideas?

big c is correct, thats probably the best way to do it. maybe having a panel big enough to fit the sub though.

That is kind of what I was thinking but was not sure what to use or if it would even work.

I was thinking the top on the sealed section of the 4th order be sealed sealed. The top where the port is be another peace that I could take off using screws. Since the wall separating the sealed and ported side would be double 3/4 MDF I could screws in really secure there splitting the 2 tops.

Just worried about it leaking there.. Seems simple but I don't want to waste a bunch of money on seals trying them out..

Theres a build on the rockford forums that has a silicon seal on the top.
I'd go that route if I were you

the best way to do it is a recessed panel and weather seal

Like what I said above? Thats kind of what I was thinking..

But then my port would be at the other end of the box so it would be like this..

__________
|sub| ] <---- Port
--------------

I was going to do
________ <-- port on top..
|sub| |
--------------

If I do side port this could work but top port seems like it might be really hard unless I do a 4th order with areo ports then it might be hard to really brace them if the top comes off.

I have a 4 15'' blowthrough 4th order BP in my daily driver. I use a "camper seal" on mine. It's about 1/8'' thick and come on a roll. I put it between the box and the top cover.

By recessed do you mean the sides screwing in to the top rather then top screwing down to the sides? Not sure if I under stood that..
