Default future build

now im horrible at geometry so please bear with me...

(after perusing the site, specifically the build log,i want to build another enclosure)
now currently i have an enclosure that is 4.55^3ft with port displacemnt (has internal slot port) and is 5.44^3ft with out any displacement.

im looking to build an enclosure in the future (but for the time being, i will be using the dimensions of my current box) with 2 external aeroports that can fire through the holes where my rear speakers used to be in the rear deck (is that an affective setup?) i have a 95 cadillac seville sts and the trunk is extremely sealed.

ok, so far i have figured that with 5.3^3ft (taken into account subwoofer displacement) and using 2 aeroports... the Diameter would have to be 5" and the length would have to be 6.39" and that should give me a tuning frequency of about 45Hz.

so is that correct? is there any leniency on the length of the port with out affecting tuning frequency?

It looks like you've already subtracted the sub's displacement, which is good. That being said, any change in post length will effect your tuning. Same thing as being off in your volume calculations by any bit. The last box I designed (my own current box) I was only off on the volume by like 2 cubic inches. That was good enough for me, but I know it did effect my tuning by maybe .001 hz or something like that.

Also, if you're trunk's pretty well sealed, why not just make a 4th order, ports through the deck (like you're planning) and seal it off completely? It would definitely cut down on your trunk rattles, and should help it get louder in your car. Just a thought...
