Default 4x10" IB Manifold...

If one was to build an IB manifold for 4 10" subs, would you be able to have a pair on each side of the manifold firing towards each other with about 5" of space between the opposing drivers?

That's what I thought but I needed reassurance. Thanks!

Might switch to 4 IDQ 10's now...I'll never make up my mind!

I can't fit 4x10"+ across behind the rear seats...it would have to be \/\/ shaped to fit the subs across that way.

I also understand that facing the subs towards one another helps control the cone movement? Someone please correct me if I am misinformed.

***EDIT - I can fit 4x10" across. The opening I have is 41" W x 14" H. This will work out better than the manifold if I end up with the IDQ's.

The W shape would be pretty cool. Would be better if it was more of a flat W, but either way you should be just fine. Facing subs towards one another can help, but not always. Your better off getting a driver that can handle what your going to use it for. Winslow used to run 3 max 12s on his rear deck. Steel baffle welded to the car as well. Biggest thing with IB is seal EVERYTHING off.

From what I understand, IDQ's do very well IB. I also know that everything has to be sealed off. The reason I asked about opposing pairs facing each other was because I thought that 2x10's on each side of a manifold would stay on the package tray in the trunk of my LS, but I measured last night and it would hang over the spare tire well, so that idea is out the window.

So my options are 4x10" IDQ's behind the seats, 1x21" Hertz in a manifold behind the seats, or a 9512f in a vented enclosure and cutting out most of the rear deck so there is more direct air coupling between the trunk and the cabin.

IDQ does very well in IB, as do all the ID drivers. You lost me on the hanging over the spare tire well part. I don't know the LS trunk very well.

If you start at the plane between the back of the seats and the opening to the trunk and move backward towards the trunk lid or far back wall, there is only about 16" from center before the floor drops off into the spare tire well.

Let me see if I can find a picture to describe what I am talking about.
