small spl boxes ive seen some, u dont have as much rear hatch flex when u arent loading it, im guessing thats why the scores were a little higher firing to the drivers side rear

In a 4runner it was nearly 2db quieter but I had my daily 38hz single 15" box turned sideways like that for a while, a little less rattling was nice though lol

I'm trying to keep the box 20'' deep or less, which is creating some problems when trying to come up with a design to fit rear firing aeros. I'd have plenty of room if I could fire them to the side though.

i have mine ported to the pass side.... seems to be better than facing the back. Also allows for a longer port (esp. with aero's) since the width is greater than the depth available

Mine is like that, but it's a 12" Alpine Type E on 300 watts...nothing special. It honestly is pretty loud for such a cheap/low power sub.

That's exactly the problem I'm having, not enough depth to the box. If I do 3-12s or 4-10s I'll have to do side firing aero. If I do 2-15s I might be able to get away with rear firing slot, possibly even aeros but I'd be cutting it close on port area.

problem with doing it in front or back in an SUV is you usually have to have an L in the slot port, which takes up much more space, so obviously the box will have to be significantly bigger... which is another reason I went Aero.. I just like them better.. leaves the option to change tuning.. I've even cut the port baffle off and changed port configs
