Question input please Solo X

OK here is the situation

Stetsom 2k5 2ohm
One Kicker Solo X 12" dual 1
max box size 16t X 18d X 32w
The car peaks at 42hz and is a trunk

I know the solo x like bigger boxes, but in a 3 cu box it will only like to see 1500w or so and the imp rise is pretty stiff. I was looking at going down to a ~2cuft box with 2-4" areoports going through the deck into the car and firing the sub to the rear of the trunk. I am looking for some confimation that I am going in the right direction with this as the way I see it, the imp rise is less with the smaller box, the power handling is better with the smaller, and 2-4inch ports are pretty close to acceptable. I am looking to play to the mid-high 30's and have the imp rise close to that also droping to 2 ohms by the low 40's and the second rise 70 or above. I know I am not asking for much.

I have modeled a few boxes but they typically show some pretty ugly rise or tuning is higher, or the rms is 1500 or so

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Your X will want twice that much power if you cut that box down to that size. I'm putting 1500w per X 12 and each of them have 5.85 cu. ft. after displacement

Edit: Keep in mind that while you can cut down on impedance rise with a smaller box, you also cut down on efficiency. I can attest to the fact that X's love big boxes and you can always try Kicker tech although there's a good chance you'll get as much help as I did: "Uh that sounds good"

i'd shoot for one 6'' aero if you can do it, instead of 2 4'' aero's

so do you think it will take 2500w daily in a 3' box?
