Default Port Tunning

I have an audiobahn 15" subwoofer...the manual recommends to tune the port to 35hz...what would happen if I do less than 35? and what would happen if I tune it higher than 35? How would the sound be affected by the different hz??

If you have a site that I can visit to get informed, please post it...

thanks to all who reply...

the question was not about the sub, it was about the port...thanks for your reply but it still doesn't answer my question...

tuning lower (should) give an overall lower sound to the sub. tuning higher will... yup you guessed it! Tuning at 35hz is round about middle of the road. I would tune no lower than 28hz and no higher than 42hz

Typically, the enclosure size is a big factor as well. Coensiding with the tuning frequency, the enclosure will determine, for the most part, how the sub is going to perform.

I would ask youself, " Do I want this sub to sound boomy or punchy." Take into consideration what you'll listen to most of the time. "Usually" the bigger the box, the boomier the sound. Of course the higher the tune, can also produce a more boomy sound at mostly higher frequencies at or above tuning.

Lots of factors can play a role...what is the Fs of the sub?
