I am working on a box design with a center L slot port. The box dimensions are as follows.
5 cubic ft net, shared chamber
38" wide, 18" tall, 24" deep.
the port is 5" wide and 16.5" tall and needs to be 40" long.
I want do a center port, but as you can tell it will need to be an L port.
My question has to do with the throat of the port. It will split behind each sub at the back. Should the back of the L and the straight portion back all summed equal the total reiquired lenght keeping it 4" in width. So in the diagram below the 2 red piece and the blue be a total length of 40" and be 4" wide?
Or should the rear throat be 2" wide and one side plus the straight length back equal the 40" of the port length, so in the diagram below 1 red portion plus the blue equal 40" with the red being 2" wide and the blue being 4" wide?
if this makes sense.
