Default calling all knowledgable box builders

i have 2 dc level 3 15s on a cadence ia9, 2k rms...my box rite now is for the lowwwws, but its VERY peaky and its lacking punchiness

its 8.7 cubes before driver displacement and its t uned to 31 hz. with 108 sq inches of port.. im looking for something that will still drop very low but has more punch to it and sounds louder to your ear. would a smaller box help? more port area? ik the box i have is to big to get real loud with. help me pwease. all of it is in a 2002 escalade

I'm not surprised that it lacks "punchiness" when it's tuned to 31. Sounds like a pretty standard box that 90% of people would recommend even though DC wants 3cf per. Pics of the box? Do want to rebuild or do you want to maybe just try to take up some airspace with inserts? How do you have the subs and port oriented?

Just a side note... you're on Team Sundown but have no SD equip? Lol.

If you can easily shorten your port than try that. I would tune it to 34-35hz. Should still play pretty low in that size box and get a bit louder and punchier.

As stated you can shorten your port. Truthfully I go 3-3.5(after port and sub dis) on those subs now. I get good results when I tune from 34-36 they still go low but have a great punch to them.

You guys do realize that just cutting the port will make the internal volume bigger, right? The box is already over sized by over 2 cubes, and you guys are suggesting he make it bigger? Yeah, that makes sense...

OP, you need to fill up some of the volume in the box, or start over and build another. I'd build another, keeping the same port area, and tune to around 34hz or so.

Try 6.25net tuned to 35-36 with 62-68 inches of port area.
