Default Compeition box help(1st timer)

Ok guys I need some advise as to doing a competition box for my 15" MT. The only way I think i can get the box into the car would be in a way that the sub has to be facing up. What I am looking at for this box is to be around 3.5cuft with external aeros tuned to around 38-40hz. The reason i want to do external aeros is because i have a pretty neat idea for the amp rack to go ontop of the aeros but not reasting on them if you understand what im trying to say.

So what I need help with is basically designing the box I have never designed one before. I am using sketchup and i dont really know how to do exteral ports with it. I'm gussing it has to do with the pull/push tool just dont knwo how lol

Also what size aeros? I will be using PVC and I have access to a heat gun to flare the ports.

One more thing depending on how long the aeros need would there be any way to make the box so that the box with sub is one part and then the aero port part would be abother part and hook them up in the trunk??

Disscuss. Any and all input is very much appreciated.

Giving your maximum dimensions would help.

thats not a competition box though thats a daily box
but any way use 6"
all you have to do is make 2 circles in sketchup and pull the middle of the 2
and you could make the end panel removable and use weather stripping and t-nuts

Well the box that I have in there now is (external) 23" L x 32" W x 14" H. That box was a royal pain in the ASS to put in so I dont plan on making any of the dimensions of the new box anywhere close to those.

I'm trying to figure that out now. I wasn't sure if the whole removable port thing would work but i guess it will now. I guess i could also use that make make a daily port that way too. Idk Ill have to play with the numbers. Also do do the flares of the ports need to go into consideration when trying to figure out tuning?
