Default Port help

I am going to build a box for 2 type R 12's this weekend. I want to try using pvc for the ports. Would I be better off using two 6" or one 8" port and why is one better over the other? Sorry if this is noob questions will be the first time I have used a round port instead of slot. I just wanna try something new.

Anything special that I need to know about using the pvc as a port over a slot port?

Thanks for any help or tips.

Enclosure will be 4cubes at around 34hz.

I personally would use the 2 6" Ports. Its less port area and would give more sub control. Below the tuning freq.

I was liking the 2 6" idea also, I was also thinking one bigass 8" hole would look nice too. At the end of the day though I just wanna go with whatever is gonna work and sound best. They will probably see 600-700rms a piece if they will take it without getting stinky. I'm already pushing them kind of hard for what they are so wanna make sure I'm not gonna kill them with the wrong ports.

Yeah I would stick with the 2 6" ports then. You could do the 8" if you wanted since you arent overpowering them too much but you would have to set your subsonic filter a little higher to keep sub control.

Thats quite a lot of port area for 2 12s considering the power you're running. More than likely its gonna be really peaky. You don't need 12-16sq in of port per cube when using aeros. 1 6" or 3 4"s would be fine.

I do believe you're only supposed to use around 9" of port area per foot with aeros. A pair of 6" ports would be 14ish inches per foot

Hmm, well if anyone else can chime in that has some enclosures under their belt I'd love to hear what you guys would build. I'm far from being an expert.

A single 6" doesnt seem like it would be enough for 2 12's, but again I am used to using slot ports. Anyone else wanna chime in on what they would recommend?
