Default What box specs?

Currently, I've got two Type R's in a sealed box at 1.2 cu ft per chamber. I want to switch to a ported box for loudness, can anybody recommend a pre-made ported box that would be good for these two subs? Making my own isn't an option, I don't even have the tools to do so. And maximum width I can fit is about 33". Still hoping to maintain a level of sound quality so what should I tune the box to?

most prefab boxes are tuned around 38 - 45 hz......probox makes good boxes and obcon and fatbox if u have the cash make the best IMO!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't fully understand tuning of the box. Would I get better quality out of a lower or higher tuned box?

get a box made...dont get a prefab box...and its not a matter of quality of tuning...if u like gutwrenching bass and DONT care about low end, tune higher...tuning higher also USUALLY will give u better numbers on a tl...but if u like low tones, like anything jeezy for example, tune lower, like 32-35hz...when u do tune higher tho, when you get a tone that drops below the box tuning, your risking damaging your subs...higher tuning is mainly designed fo comps

I know custom made are better, but I'm kinda hard on cash, and pre-mades are usually cheaper.

Just a thought, sometimes people on here and other forums, sell used boxes which may work for you. Determining the if box size and tuning would fit your needs is a concern but would be with a prefab also and that is what asking questions on the forum is for, learning from the experience of others.....
