Default Mazda Tribute Enclosure (UPdate- Added pics)

I have a 2003 Mazda Tribute (its a small SUV and has a very similar body design to the Ford Escape). What sub/port configuration would work best?
1) Subs up, port back
2) Subs up, port up

I see that port back is most common, but I've seen port up also.

subs up port back seems to work best in most suvs just depends on the shape of the back hatch
