It'll work well, depending on the material you may need to resin the inside for strength

resin will add very little strength. do the outside of the tube in resin/glass mat and you'll be able to stand on when it's laying on it's side. I did 2 10" sono's for an enclosure with 2 21" DP's a while back...

works just dandy. best way to use on and secure it to the box would be take the side the port will be on. using a jasper jig and a 1/4" upcut bit plunge to about 1/2" deep notch. make sure you measure the inside diameter and outside diameter of the tube. once done with the circular groove use gorilla glue inside the notch slide the sonotube inside let it dry. then using a flush trim bit with bearing on the bottom trim out the circle. viola DONE!

yea pretty much, just make sure all your flares are equal, i cut mine about every 2 inches, got the flares all looking similar, poked holes in the end of each tab and top of the tube, tied off with fishing line, string, whatever; set on wax paper and glassed/resined, needed slight amount of bondo work to be perfect but was pretty much free so yea......
