Default Rear loaded horn math..

So, Im readin more of the Quarter-wave shiz, and a few pieces seem to be left out..

It shows the throat area as (1/pi) (342 / (2*Fc))^2.. Then he goes on to just assign it to 181xSD, what gives?

I did..
(1/pi) x (342/(2*30))^2 = 10.34 = 16027"sq
For a 30hz rolloff, is this right? Where is this 181xSd rule coming from?

Flare constant, (m) = (4 pi Fc) / 342 seems easy enough..
(4 pi 30) / 342 = 1.1m
Whatever that may be.

Then Lhorn = In(Smouth / Sthroat) / m
Ex: in(181.6/1)/1.1m^-1
Err, he said he sets throat area to the SD.. I dont see that. It is set to 1? what is the IN thing? And M^-1, eh? Im hells of confused by this point.
He gets In(181.6/1) / 1.837m^-1 being:
2.831m = 111.5in.
How the hell?

Vol chamber = (342 * .021m^2) / (2 pi Fh) * (1000/m^3) = Vol in Liters
That parts easy enough.

Can anyone clarify this stuff before I move on? I am unsure if he missed something in his paper, or if my (highschool) math education is whats holding me back.

Thanks to anyone who understands. Im trying to do a generic box for 30-80hz rolloffs. After I get this down Ill just write a program to do it for me!

Edit - HERE is the link to his paper.

I understand that. Let me rephrase.. there is a 'generic' driver defined in his paper.
I wanted to try and successfully achieve SOME form of design from some temporary numbers, strictly for the purpose of understanding the methods. So far, I dont see ANY driver-specific parameters aside from cone area.

So again.. my questions lie unanswered.

Edit - And I liked your clockwork orange avvy much better. No one takes the eery/disturbed route these days without the fear of being labeled and oddball.

There is a spreadsheet program called hornresp already written and a bunch of tutorials on it. I'll see if I can find it for ya. It kinda looks like you are looking at t-line and horns?
