Default 2 DC XL 18s Box Design

Ok let me give you all the info. I live in japan and they use the metric system for MDF so I try don't have quite 3/4 inch MDF. What they do have is 18mm MDF which is as close as I am going to get here. I drive a 1994 Toyota hilux surf (4runner). I am going to have a 270a DC Alt under the hood with an optima red top under the hood and 4 Deka 9A31s in the back. This will be powering the new DC 5K amp. I am going to be running 2 DC lvl 4 XLs 18s. I want to build a box with subs up and port towards the back tuned to 32-37hz. I was wondering if some one could help me design a box. I do not want to invest all this money and not have a properly designed box affect the system from operating at optimal level. I would appreciate any help and input.

so my problem is my max width from wheel to wheel is 34'' so not quite big enough for 2 18s but i was thinking maybe a box like this would be ok... i would need help figuring out all the dimensions necessary tune have the right tuning and cube... this is my first google sketch up so its not that great

my max dimensions

34 wheel to wheel

38 back seat to trim

17 back seat height

12 right width wheel

9 left with wheel

8 right height wheel

7 left height wheel

52 widest part of truck

you could do a meade style box with a window port in the middle.
not saying that your design you have will not work but i think you may have some loading issues with it being that low.
i say go with that design myself, the only problem is gonna be figureing port but they say that port calculator on carstereo.com is pretty on but i ain't sure.

make sure you leave a few inches from the back window so your port can breath
