Question Enclosure volume?????

I am redesigning my sub bass system in my 2008 Hyundai Elantra. I currently have one SSA XCON 15" in a 4^3ft net enclosure tuned to 32hz. I am pleased with the output of the system but the enclosure is too big for my trunk area, I need more cargo space. Since I am redesigning the system I would like to achieve a smaller enclosure with more output.

For amplification I have one Crescendo 3kwp which is capable of approx. 4000wrms @ .5 ohm.

I am considering two TC Sounds Axis 12Q1. Each driver would be in it's own small sealed enclosure.

What is the optimal sealed net enclosure size for one Axis 12Q1?

Power handling: 1,000 watts RMS/4,000 watts peak Le: 8.7 mH
Impedance: 1.2 ohms per coil x 4
Re: 4.74 ohms
Frequency range: 15 - 150 Hz
Fs: 27.8 Hz
SPL: 85.4 dB
Vas: 1.41 cu. ft.
Qms: 6.30
Qes: 0.38
Qts: 0.35
Xmax: 26.5

I am no pro at enclosure calculations that's why I ask!

But based on my calculations a qtc of .707 gives me a vb of 0.4862^3ft and a f3 of 54.9hz.

Isn't that enclosure size extremely small and the f3 high? I want good low frequency extension to 20-30 hz.

I should add that I plan on mounting the drivers with the magnet out.

2.75 cube before port displacement for those with the subs on the outside of the box. Thats for the pair not 2.75 each.

I wouldn't use them for sealed. The LMS-R or Exodus Shiva-X would be better options in my opinion. Not to mention that 9mH inductance in pitiful.

Thank you for helping.

Why do you think that the LMS-R would be better than the AXIS in a small sealed enclosure? Isn't inductance irrelevent especially since I have the the subwoofer system crossed over at 60hz?

^It shouldnt, but it still sucks.

Just go with two 10s or a single good 12. Going to be putting down some good money though for a 4" vc 12 to handle 4k if thats what youre planning.

Thanks for posting your comment.

I am not considering two 10" because honestly I never heard two 10" that had good ouput. I crossed off a single 12" because it want to make use of my amplifiers full potential. So it comes down to two 12" sealed......
