your box is only tuned 2 hz lower, expectations too high? that's like saying you can hear the difference between a 84hz tone and 82hz tone.

What was the difference in box sizes? That probably did you in.

1st box -16H 32W 18D 3.5 cubes tuned to 33 hz sub up port back. it pretty much looked like a standard 1 sub slot ported box with the sub firing up instead of back.

2nd- 16H 28W 26D 4 cubes tuned to 31 hz sub up port back but the port is suv style( wide and short) so its not above the trunk opening.

the lower you tune the flatter the response. so if at 33hz you gain 3db over baseline, at 31hz you gain maybe 1.5db over baseline. the human ear cannot detect that small of a difference.

well its a lot of loss. with the old box my windshield and mirrors would flex and my hair would move and stuff. same songs on new box got nothing. the old box was a leaky piece of shit too. if i could show the difference in loudness between the two. ...
everybody said go for a bigger box. ****.

You changed more than just the box size and tuning.

does having the port vertical or horizontal really make that much of a difference?
