Default wanting some opinions on tuning frequency.

Hey guys i have a bmw 530i 2002 with 2 lanzar opti 1232s and a old kicker 750.1. Yes i know not the ideal setup, but its what i have and im just tinkering with it. I made a box recently with two 4 inch round ports and 1.8 cubic feet per subs(also one 4 inch port per sub with subs in separate chambers) and the box sounds very good and extremely responsive to any music. Got a lot of complements at a recent event, but on the term lab sealed legal it got around 138 dbs. I blame my lack of port space that may have boosted responsiveness, but let me jump to the point. I have some extra wood and want to see what one of these twelves at 4 ohms would do on the 750.1. I want to use more air space to maximize the power Im guessing around 2.5 cubic feet. Any ideas on tuning if i plan to use two 4 inch round ports for the 1 12" sub at 2.5 cubic feet? And with the previously noted dual 12 box tuned to 40hz the termlab showed a peak at 41hz. I used win isd to tune...who knows...thanks for any information.

for anyone familiar with these cars there is a steel wall behind the seat.. i trimmed out the armrest portion and directed my ports through this hole.

any opinions for maintaining a certain degree of musicality while increasing spl capabilities. I listen to rock, rap for the bass, and occasionally dubstep when im feelin frisky...just lookin for opinions here my current idea is increasing tuning to say maybe 43-45hz?

Use Precision ports tuning calculator. I use it for aero ports to find out the length i need for a certain tuning.

Guessing you have 750w going to them? For a daily setup and two 12s halfish done.. 138 is kindof low but for the power and if thats on music its about expected in my opinion.
Get more power, work on the install.

yeah that was 2 12s off of the kicker at 2 ohms which is supposedly 750 watts RMS. Dropping it to 4 ohms on one of the 12s would put out 750 max which is something im considering but that should be able to hit these numbers. Basically i need an opinion on what frequency i should try is 40hz too low, or too high. Numbers were indeed on music.

so you want to go with 1/2 the cone and 1/2 the power and get higher numbers

I dont think its going to happen. With a proper box you'll gain but your taking away much more then you'll ever gain

40hz is as high as you want to go for daily

what you need is a proper box and a bigger amp or if you only want to run 1 sub then a different amp

i dont necessarily want higher numbers id rather properly power one sub than half power two. I feel with a proper box and and different tuning/more airspace to take advantage of the lesser power i could get numbers similar to these and have a more musical daily box that can maybe tickle the meter around 140. This is my DD car and with the steel wall behind the seat id have to go choppin prolly if i want significantly higher numbers. I felt 40hz may be too high also thanks. Would somewhere in the mid 30s be more reasonable for these goals.
