Default winisd vent mach accuracy.

Is windisd's vent mach accurate when you do 2 or more ports? The vent mach seems to decreases more then it should. With 2 ports that = the same port area as one, the vent mach is much greater on the single port (I know there are factors that might change this value slightly, but not by .03 mach). I just don't see how this can be right.

Are you going from a straight port to a port with a bend in it?

I wouldnt expect WinISD to be spot on as its not exactly the most accurate program. Im switching over to bass box pro but im still learning it.

No. I'm talking simple.

Say a 2 cubic foot box with sub X and a 4" aero has a lot higher vent mach than:
4 cubic foot box with 2 of sub X's and 2 4" aero's.

Default this is the first real problem I've seen with winISD beta

I never noticed this.
You are correct.

A problem does exist when trying to calculate a single rectangle port. The problem stems from WinISD cutting the length in half of what it needs to be.

In real life if you double the length it says for the single rectangle port, the tunning will be correct and the mach will be half of what it says. {that's a hard lesson though}

[adjustments will be necessary for any already built boxes since the internal volume will be decreased when you double the port displacement]

Also, if you built a box based on that with a single rectangle port, the tuning frequency is actually about 30% higher than you wanted it to be.
eg; if you wanted 33hz, your actual tuning is about 44hz.

It's a mistake in the calculation.

winisd calculates fine for round ports or multiples of square/round ports

if the surface area stays the same, the vent mach stays about the same.
Use two 4" ports versus one 8" port.
The vent mach will remain almost identical because the surface area is almost the same.
The volume remains almost the same also. {the 8" port will be almost double the length}
(2) 4" ports = (1) 8" port

Multiple ports will have a lower vent mach reguardless of port area...
