Default about box materials

Man did I miss something? I have been using 3/4 mdf (usually doubled) but when I look at boxs around here I notice some other types of wood/ wood being used. Whats the new "IN" wood to use? lol

Well after more ready I guess I figuared it out on my own... 12 ply birch huh? What is the rough price on a sheet of that? Cause the MDF around here is still expensive almost $50 a sheet.

birch around here is 57ish mdf is 40ish a sheet. birch is lighter and supposedly has a different sound to it than mdf.

I guess the price of birch has gone down...it used to be prohibitively expensive or just unavailable. Cool!

To the OP..use whatever you want, just use it correctly. As far as I'm concerned MDF is still the best bet for a balance of usability, performance, and cost.
