Default box design / ideas

hey ya'll i'm thinking / planning on doing a blow thru build with 4 hfi12d4's running off an ap1800, and looking for someone to help me with a box design for them, i know there not the greatest but on a rly tight budget so its what im gunna go with, but anyways the biggest the box can be is 66w x 32.5d x 17.5h roughly, not goin to compete just daily so more sq/spl based cant decide to go with just regular ported at 2 or 2.5 cubic feet per sub and tuned to around 35hz, or go with a 4th order bandpass what ever you think would work best. thanks,

bill,

Hi Bill! After some material that I need to pick up tomorrow and finish off a build, I would be glad to help you out with what will work.
As far as figuring for a design response, what did you have in mind in achieving? Once a design response goal is figured, we can then look at what type of designs will yield great results. Then we can concentrate on what a final response will be with given information about the dimensions and such.
So, contact me in the early evening tomorrow and I can start you on figuring what design approach will best fit your needs.
Thanks,
Jason

I know you mentioned daily, and sq/spl, but what I meant before was do you have a frequency range in mind? I can figure for what frequency range your vehicle will couple with the best if you can give me the interior dimensions of the vehicle as well. This would be a great place for us to start.

well what i ment by sq/spl was its just my daily driver and i just dont want it so sound like crap but still sound good and get decent loud for what it is, ill try and get messurements tomorrow on the cabin its a 85 chevy pickup fullsize if that tells you anything? and as for tuneing im not sure were i rly want it, i listen to just about everything but mostly country, rap, dub step, and some rock etc so it needs to get decently low but i dnt want it to lack the upper range 40hz-80hz? too much but want 30hz-40hz to still be strong. if that makes sence lol oh and should be powering it with a audiopipe 1800.1 at 2ohms so 1100 watts rms or close to it.

I know you said you have it figured out now, but this will help for future builds as an example of dealing with angles and such. Take the 4 pics of the odd shaped trunk here:

You notice I gave it 2 inches on each side and kept the box shape. I also decided to leave trunk spaced for groceries and such in the rear if needed, but if you wanted to use that, the same applies with another box shape. Once the box shapes are put together for a final shape, if you want to make it look flush, use single pieces around it during the detailing process and carpet it for a flush look with the box.
Hope this helps in the future for anyone who has problems measuring the trunk area or needing to know a good way to do it. I can make it more detailed and with more dimensions if you like. If not, there you go.
