Make the port longer.. use fill.. etc.

Specs of the enclosure? Subs? where is your SSF set? Where is the port?

Funny thing about 4th orders... the port has less to do with tuning the the chamber volumes. You may need to shrink the front chamber. You can try to alter the port (if you can) or maybe stuff the rear chamber with polyfill, but being a wall... that's gonna be a lot of polyfill. Lol.

Why do you say it's tunned[sic] "high?" Is it not crushing the lows or the peak is high or what? What's it tuned to?

From the sounds of it you need to shrink the port.
I would say get on the TL then shrink your port until you get your bandwidth you want

No need for a TL if he's looking for a musical response... Just mess with the port till it sounds like what he's looking for.

Well, getting on a TL will ensure that he's getting a "flat" response in his passband. Most people can't just tune it by ear.

And it may already be pretty flat but not digging as deep as he is used to with a traditional ported enclosure. A +3db gain in the high 40's will really deemphasize what might be perfectly acceptable levels in the low 30's.

And the termlab will tell you what your flat response/bandwidth is so he can look at what he wants to aim do so he can measure how much he needs to shrink the port
