Default Upcoming Build Questions.

The build will be two DD 3515's off of roughly 3k watts. I was recommended i Just wall it. Are there any advantages of this? I'm not totally against it, but I need some advice.

And with that kind of power, I am doing some deadening of the roof first. I was also told that a straight sheet of wood would do me better. While I am expecting this to be loud as ****, I am not registered for any competitions (as much as i would like to be.) Would a sheet of wood just be a better idea? It is still going to be my Daily driver so I want it to look nice at the same time.

That was the plan. Seats were going to come out. I'm just wondering if i would get similar results with a differently proportioned box. I should be ordering some deadener soon anyway. That is the first step. But i would have some cash leftover atm to get a nice box design too.

Make sure youre able to seal it off.
Would try and use birch or something relatively light weight being a dailydriver. Were you looking to shoot for numbers at all, or just be a loud daily?

At the end of the month there is a show I plan to go to. I haven't ever seen real numbers before. I have no frame of reference as to what loud is. I'm leaning more towards just a big ass box. Being that it IS my DD, I greatly appreciate my rear window. Blind spot=suck.

Even so, I plan to take the seats out and bolt the box down. Its gonna be real big. I have roughly 4' wide, 2' deep, and somewhere around 3' tall, but I won't be going that tall for reasons I just stated.

I guess this thread is more asking for experienced people to butt in. My first sub was a new style RE XXX that was VASTLY under powered. Then i had 1508s getting a little more than they ask for, and now the 3515s. I feel like I'm getting closer and closer do doing shit right, and I don't want to mess something up and have to fix it down the road.

Birch aint cheap. one sheet from my local lumber yard (7 ply) is $77. Home depot and lowes are like $50, but I have heard more than one place that it is sandwiched with pine.

Wow, a sheet of 11ply from lowes here was 44 in Oklahoma.

And if you can, I would suggest doing subs up if youre looking for a blended response. If youre looking for heavy low end/authority, then subs forward is a good choice.
This has lots of potential..

High hopes- I'm lookin for hair tricks. So forwards would probably be it. Why does that make much of a difference?

Also, unfortunately it may take a while for this build to actually happen. I don't get paid a ton so it might be a month or so before its done. And i may be contacting you real soon surreal

If youre looking to still have usability of your back window then a wall is out of the question. if you dont mind losing that, IMO this is your best option for hairtricks. Low end authority, and having a heavily shrunken cabin to work with will greatly increase your output.

Good luck.
