Default Deep vs Shallow box

Does depth of the box play a factor? For example, box A with a depth of 22 inches vs box B with a depth of 18 inches? For the sake of aruguement, both boxes would be the same cubic inches, same tuning, subs foward port side for a trunk.

I wouldn't think 4 inches would make much difference, but yes depth will impact loading if you compare 12 depth to a deeper box. It really want be a drastic difference unless the port location is altered greatly by the shape of the box.

If you are trying to determine box specs, I wouldn't worry much about the 4".

I was using that as an example. It's going to be more like going from 33 wide to 28 wide and going from 18 deep to around 24 deep. Since the port is going drivers side, the port will be further away from the subs.

you will have prolly better loading with the longer box depending on the sub but i don't really know i am talking out the side of my neck right now lmao i would think it would load better with a shallow box cause you have less cubic space for all the pressure to get lost in if that makes any sense to ya. kinda makes sense to me lmao but like the other guy said i don't see how it would make a DRASTIC difference but the only way to tell is testing it.
i once had a competitor tell me he was .3 louder with his subs being off set with one up higher than the other one, so who knows.
