Default 12w7 in a 4th order or 6th order box for trunk

I was thinking about redoing my sub box to something different and was wondering if anyone had ever built a 4th order or 6th order box for a 12w7. A little about what its going in, I have a acura CL that has a crawl through (for lack of better word) into the trunk area behind the arm rest in the middle of the back seat. I figured if I could build a 4th order box I could make the port line up through that crawl through. I am not good at designing boxes so figured I would ask if the 12w7 would have any deficiencies that would not work well in this type of enclosure before I went any further. These type of boxes would be about the only way that I can think of to have the port in the middle of the enclosure to line up with the crawl through. The enclosure the sub is in now does very well the way it is but just wanting to do something different if possible

ive seen plenty of w7s play VERY well in a 4th order. Many videos of setups on youtube and look sexy in plexi boxes. PM "Surreal" hes one of our box designers here. Im sure he will post in this thread soon lol

I think Crazy has been following me! Haha, thanks man.

Yes, that sub has a lot of potential! Id be happy to give more input but Id need more information. If youre willing to pay for a design, fill out a design request in my section (link in sig). If not, more details on space available, power, listening type, etc would be helpful.

I will probably do that next Friday (when I get paid) just to at least have the plans for when I do build another box. I know it can be 33 1/2 inches long and 18 inches wide and as deep as it really needs to be since it will be in the trunk. I will be using 3/4 inch MDF also (if you need to know this)

I've seen a guy here do a few in 4ths. Seems risky though. It seems the very weak kapton fomers could easily be damaged by high mechanical pressure. And yea, i've felt an oem w7 former before the sub and they are kinda scarry.

Just saying.

Sounds good, no rush. Just let me know and Ill keep an eye out for a request from you.

Ill wait til the time comes to take a further look at what the model says, but as long as excursion is kept within a good limit I dont see any issues. Most people leave their SSF too low on bandpass enclosures so their subs go crazy, and they dont know it..
