Default First Box Build :/

So I learned that I'm not very good at drilling holes straight so in my next box build I'm just going to use 90* clamps and 1 or 2 normal clamps.

Here's what I need to do:

The rear wall is going to be sanded down until it's level with the side walls.

Then the inside is going to be caulked to hell to make up for my lack of craftsmanship.

The front overhang is going to be fixed by using wood putty then smoothing out at an angle using a straight edge.

All other over hangs will be fixed in same manner or sanded down until even.

Get friend to cut holes for subs since I'm not confident in my cutting abilities anymore...

I'm hoping that after I do all that and paint it with some dark gray texture paint you won't be able to see how poorly it was built easily.

On to the pictures...

I had the exact same problems when I first started building boxes. Just practice till you're good, that's all you gotta do

Though I am happy that I made this box because I learned what does/doesn't work so when I build my next box it will be much better.

Specs:
Width - 32"
Height - 13.5"
Depth - 20"
Tuning - 32hz
Airspace - ~3Ft3 after all displacements

Honestly for a first time that isnt that bad. I have seen some pretty haggard sh*t people have built and not everyone has the best tools to work with either so you gotta do what you can with what you have and honestly once you seal it up with some caulk that box will perform better than any prefab crap you could buy.

Not too bad really.
Might want to cut all the same height pieces in one pass next time though, little tricks like this can be super helpful and make a big difference.
Also, spend the $100 on a cheap router and table. Get a spiral bit, and a flush bit.

I got the guy at Home Depot to cut it one pass I just think that I have it leaning forward some or the glue dried and raised the MDF some.

Was going to pick up a clamp but once I saw prices I decided I'd wait...

Thanks, that's what I'm hoping for. The prefab box my subs came in was full of air leaks.
