While I'm no expert..

If I had to guess..The reason Dave builds some of the DD subs with Progressive Spiders, and some with Linear Spiders...

Is just because one customer might want a Musical DD Sub..While another is just going to use it for SPL only..There's a lot of factors that influence his decisions on building subs the way he does...Enclosure Size..Tuned Frequency of Box..Whether they are going to run Sealed or Ported etc...

A lot of factors come into play when it comes to building a proper sub..He knows how to take all those factors, and use the appropriate Soft Parts.. To build the sub for the application it was intended for..

I wouldn't expect a Professional Sub-Builder to be giving out too much free information..

Besides.. It's probably way over our heads..lol

I can tell you this much about the FMS re cones. They are great. I went through five re cones through DD and everyone of them broke in the same place. Mr. Moore hooked me up and these things pound. It's hard to crank them up driving around because people put their fingers in their ears and their windows are up. I'm setting off alarms driving by 30 mph. LOL. Great product. This guy knows his shit.
