Default Konaki

Just wanted to get a price quote for two recones

Woofer Brand:
Konaki Motors
Impedance: D1
Size: 15"
Model: N/A
Special Requests: 2500 RMS/Low Fs?
Additional Information: I have two 15" Konaki motors with Sundown recones and a four spoke basket with spacers between the motor and basket. I want something to play a little lower if possible and sound nice while handling the power I have available.
Photo:

The subs are not bad as they are now. I've tried tuning them lower, about 30 Hz, but they sound horrible and actually sound better and hit the lows better tuned at 36/37 Hz. I miss the sound of some of the lower fs subs I've had such as the RE SE and AA Avalanche and was hoping to get a similar sound and take some power too. Just let me know if you can build a recone to fit these needs. If not, time to do some sub shopping.

Thanks!!

I'll tell you, if you want a low FS sub, Dave is the man to talk to. I know that I couldn't be happier with my sub.

Well, that's good news I wasn't sure if that's going to be possible and still be able to handle the power too. I'll be looking forward to his response.

If you lower the FS you'll get better results from lowering your tuning to match. As to power handling, it's going to drop to an extent, part of a lower FS is a looser suspension but the upside is that the lower tuning will control cone motion better at the lower end so you can handle more power at 20hz than your subs can now.

Excellent. My enclosure has three 6" aeros so I can easily change tuning. If I plug one now, it drops to about 30. I can also extend all 3 with extra pipe I have to make it as low as 28 if I want. I prefer a lower tuning usually anyway.

low tuned is the way to go! If you need midbass get 8's or 10's for doors if they fit.

Funny you should say that. My doors will fit 8s behind the factory panels & I am in the process of finding some. Looking at some peerless ones now. Although, the ID OEMs do nicely with the 250w I'm sending them now.
