Question Helpp! 2- 15" bostwick dcl type d need rebuilt/reconed!

Hey yall!
This is my first post on this forum and I am praying that everyone here is as knowledgable and willing to share that kowledge as it seems from what I've read so far!

Ok, so, if u google "Bostwick", LITERALLY next to nothing comes up! Thank GOD I found this forum and did a search on this site and BAM! Somebody with the SAME EXACT SUBS?!? AND NEEDING REPAIR?? So I am totally mind blown. Hahaha!

Anyways, down to business. As stated in title, I too have 2- of these 15" Bostwick DCL TYPE D subs that I bought used a couple months back, they worked great for about a month and then slowly one thing after another started breaking down... As to be expected with such old components. Dried out and brittle, etc. BUT, I am not going to just chuck these old school beasts into the scrap pile just yet! I am a mechanical technician by trade and I see first hand everyday that "they just don't make things like hey used to..."! I am going to exhaust every resource to try and keep these old beaters making my rear view mirror fall off, for many more days to come, if I can!

SO PLEASSSEEEE YALL! What do I do? Who do I call? Where do I go To get these things completely rebuilt/RECONED? I live in Atlanta, GA area. Please feel free to email me on my private email
[email protected]
Or call/text me at 678-978-1915

THANKS IN ADVANCE CAC COMMUNITY!

Talking Preciate it "silver03gt"

unbelievably, I had the guy who DESIGNED THESE SUBS contact me in a private message offering to help me get these old school masterpieces back in action! I am going to, obviously, see what comes of that miraculous contact! but if I need to move on to plan B, I will most certainly take your advice and check into those resources. THANKS FOR THE REPLY AND THE ASSISTANCE!

Jason,
We can definitely rebuild these for you. They use a special motor with a small gap size, so a very thin coil will need to be used. We've done a total of 3of these in the past now, so we have enough experience with them to send you drop-in recone kits if you'd prefer.

The easiest thing for you to do would be to go on to our website and submit a service request. Doing so will get us all of your information, including info about your enclosure and amplifiers. after we get your information, we can send you back a full quote including shipping costs.

FixMySpeaker.com/service-request

If you'd rather speak to us through the forum, you can send us a p.m. with the following info.

What impedance will you need (Per voice coil)?
The brand, model, and quantity of amplifiers that you'll use?
The impedance at which you plan to run each amplifier?
The type of enclosure that it needs to work in? (Sealed, ported, bandpass?)
The size and tuning of the enclosure that it needs to work in?
The type of music that you'll listen to with it?
Will you be competing with it, or is it a daily usage subwoofer?
Is it for competitions only?
Would you like any special colors? If so, where?
Upgrades of any sort? Direct leads, carbon fiber dustcap, etc?
If you have a budget to keep, what is it?
Any other special instructions or requests?
Where are you located?
Would you like to send your subwoofer to us, or if possible, to have a rebuild kit sent to you?

If you have any questions, just let us know.

Thanks,
FixMySpeaker
