Cool driving a stick under tremendous bass pressure

i've got a zx1500.1 and a rf punch 500.2 in a small-sized car firing away...
and i've noticed some things:

1. it's [email protected]#[email protected] hard to tell when to shift gears when everything is vibrating so hard. before i'd just listen to the engine and feel the vibration in the gas pedal - now i have to watch the tach and just guess....

2. can't read any written signs cause my eyeballs are vibrating so bad

3. car won't rev up when there's a sustained bass drop - so i punch it, then the bass drop passes, and then i've over-revved.... etc.....

you guys just get used to it after awhile or what?

What he said.

My 240sx is a stick and trust me, it will rev up just fine.. whether the bass is hitting hard or not. It only has 20k miles on it though and its a 95, so that might help.

It does make it a bit trickier, because like you said... you cant hear the car, and if the subs are hitting hard enough you cant hardly feel anything either. Doesnt bother me though, I can still drive it just fine.

Been driving it for 6 months now, I actually prefer driving it to an automatic. Automatics are boring.. and their huge compared to my car. They dont handle as good either, you cant feel the road.. etc. You also cant powerslide them worth anything because the tranny will either slip or freak out, or choose the wrong gear.. Im too aggressive of a driver for an automatic.

I never look at the tach. lol I just know when to shift my truck. Though occasionally I do forget, or miss a shift, but not often.

I've never had a problem being able to drive stick, it is a tad harder cause you can't hear/feel the car rev up. I kinda had a problem with it not being able to get the RPM's up, my Geo would shut off completely if the bass hit hard enough, and I was at a stop light All the cars I own now are automatic ...... this thread makes me miss my Geo Metro!
