Default Not sure why it is doing this...

Hey guys...Okay so i had never really payed attention to this before...I noticed it after i got my excessive amperage 250 amp alt installed. I got a new serpentine belt and new idler pulley (just the pulley not the whole assembly). In this year jeep, the idler pulley is spring loaded and supposed to move some (that is what the dealership said), but i have started noticing a trend....When the pulley moves (almost like it is letting tension go) then it makes a noise and the voltage drops or rises. It dims my lights, as you can see in the video the lamp under the hood dims, and my stinger volt meter shows it too. I don't know if it is the whole assembly which is 75 more dollars that i do not have atm lol. So, does anybody have any suggestions?? I am attaching the video below... Any help is appreciated

Belt is slipping on the alt pulley itself.

Okay. See i got a .5inch smaller belt than what my jeep recommended so i figured that would work...I also had a full 1inch shorter belt and it was too tight so i just went back with the .5inch shorter

Try .75 inch shorter and see if that works. Also make sure you have enough belt rap around the pulley itself

I mean, make sure the belt has a good amount of contact around the pulley.

Sometimes when you get custom alts the belt is placed at a differnt angle shortening the amount of contact area the belt has on the pulley.

I looked up belts for my jeep and i'm pretty sure they do not make a .75 inch shorter belt.

Alright, so i got a new tensioner assembly for my Jeep. It seemed to fix that weird movement of the old tensioner. But, i still have a squeal when i accelerate and it still does some weird voltage jumping. I took a video of the belt, and it almost seems like the belt lifts off of the pulleys??
