Default Replaced battery. Speedometer won't work.

Hey guys. Just bought a '98 olds 'intrigue and put a brand new yellowtop in it.

Started it up and everything works fine EXCEPT the speedometer. its all the way to the right past the 140 mph mark in the 5 o'clock position.

Any suggestions or insight on what might be wrong?

Did it work before you changed the battery?

Have you tried hitting the dash?

I tried google for an hour lol and I didn't come across this!

i'll try this tomorrow. i read maybe if i unscrew the battery and tap them on the terminal it could "shock" the speedometer into place?

and yes it worked prior to the battery switch
