Default Which radar detector should I get.

Ok guys so i dont know much about radar detectors because i've never had one and I dont anyone who has one so whats a good radar detector thats not gonna empty my wallet completely.

I've heard escort is good and cobra is not very good. So i was thinking about getting the passport 8500 or 9500. I just want something that will alert me well enough and let me not get speeding tickets.

I don't need anything super fancy, and I'd like to try to stay under $200

Let me know, thanks guys!

The good on it is k and ka bands. Along with the variable settings. The problem is the internal speakers blow easily. I have to use an external one with mine

I have a 9500ix. Gives you plenty of time to slow down, especially on highways.
