Default IS300?

been reading up on the 2jz tt swap into the IS300 and got me thinking.
I can pay cash for the car it's self, and it seems like a much easier car to avoid unwanted attention in then in my other choice. click

anybody know of any major issues with these cars? I'm assuming since it's a lexus with (what will be) a bullet proof motor/tranny swap that is will be decently reliable and not be a son of a bitch to drive on the weekends? So far the only "issues" I can see are the rear tire width is limited so it may be scary as hell if you built to levels the 2jz is capable of, and the swap (even the motors are very similar) is not very easy. I'm not to worried about either.

I have always wanted a car that will do 200mph, has A/C, a full interior, a full stereo, will get decent mpg, and will not over heat or die in traffic. A turbo car sounds like my only option.

you're doing a conversion, that in and of itself will be the cause of most of the issues you may or may not encounter. also take into account your motor will be pushing over 400 whp easily. if you want a lexus to be fast i'd look into an SC300, much easier to get it fast. dude in Texas had one. I had a 500hp AWD Eclipse and dude made it look like I didn't know how to drive, btw I ran an 11.25.

I don't really care about 1/4 mile, no offense intended, I like highway runs. I know for sure it's not an easy swap the tubing and mounts are child's play. I do how ever have a wiring diagram and step by step instructions but still not 100% confident. It will however not be the first car I've rebuilt from ground up. My other choices were a ls7 swapped ws6 with turbos or a 350z turbo but I doubt the vq will keep up with the other 2.

honestly if you'd done it from ground up before, i think you're good to go. i just remember my first ground up build and my first conversion. things i've done that i thought were good to go were in fact off and caused tons of head aches later on that my brother corrected.

I think the thing that saves my ass is that it won't be a DD and I won't need to get it done the next day to go to work. I can take the next 2 years if I wanted to. I think I need to go test drive one around the lake see how soppy it is on the curves.

If that car did 200. You would spin in the ditch.

You would need a diffuser and a way to create downforce so that the car is stable at those speeds.

Thats why car companies limit the top speeds of there cars. Because there not stable at high speeds. unless you make it so.

that is the same with the t/a and the 350z as well. I'm not going to throw a 1000hp in an unprepared chassis and close my eyes and floor it lol.
