Default Picking Power Programmer?

I'm trying to decide between the hypertech and bullydog gt.

I know pcmforless is a better option but I need something to read and clear codes.

Now do those programmers for sure clear codes? Also does anyone know if they do anything for shift firmness?

I'm leaning to the bullydog right now.

This is for a 99 4wd blazer.

Get a real tune. Blackbearperformance, zippy tune, wheatley all do great tuning work on chevys. Free tunes for life of the vehicle after the first one. Night and day difference on my truck.

And if you need something to read and clear codes get a elm327 Bluetooth. It's 20$ and will Bluetooth to your phone, tablet, or computer. Reads codes, clears them, and also reads a whole **** ton of more info like trans temp, maf, iat, ect...

Those that I listed will remove your speed limiter, adjust multiple transmission parameters, tune in your afr just for your ride. Shits on any handheld and its the same price pretty much.

They even made my tow/haul button remove all torque managment and stiffen shifts even further. It's like a race button.

I've heard of blackbear. I'll look into the others. I'll check out that blue tooth thing. No body clears codes anymore and it's annoying.

I'll have to check, but I think my tires are slightly bigger than stock. It's got 31x10.50 BFG AT's on it. I don't know why I haven't checked lol.

Thanks btw. No tow haul mode on this truck, just the 4 gear selection. But I Deff need the tranny to be improved since it'll be carrying a bunch of gear.

They will hook you up brother and no problem. I use black bear personally. Whenever I need anything tweaked I pay 10$ for shipping it back and they get the pcm back to me in less than a week. Goodluck!

I have a hypertech on my f150. it clears codes and adjusts shift firmness. it also allows you to adjust for change in tire diameter from stock, turn off the rev limiter and adjust shift points.
[it might do rearend gear change settings too but I've never messed with that.]

note, I've had a throttle stick open on a truck before so I will never disable the rev limiter.

the only downside is about once every six months my truck pulls a false code which means nothing and only exist in f150s with the hypertech programmer.

How about performance wise and economy?

I think the custom tune will be the way to go though. I plan on getting rid of the secondary cats and putting hiflow cats in the primary spot. Four cats on an engine that only has 190hp is retarded...
