Default Need Help with starting issue!

Hey Guys, I've run into a bit of a problem with my car. I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gt, and it no longer starts. When I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position, the dash will light up, etc like normal, but when I try to actually start the car, all I get is a click, and then there is no power to anything anymore. After the click, I no longer have dash lights, headlights, windows door locks etc and the vehicle will not start.

I have tried everything from charging/swapping batteries, checking fuses, etc to try and figure this out and I'm at my wit's end, I just can't get it to do anything. Does anyone have any Idea what could be causing the issue? Any input or ideas would be great, thanks!

Sounds like a bad starter to me. Try hitting it with a hammer/ 2x4.

Can't tell if you're serious or not bcuz I have actually gotten stuff to work from that before

I'm down to either the starter or the janky ass stock security system. Car has one of those dumb transponder keys, could the key have been effed up? The manual says that if the keys are left near magnets( like on my workbench with my subs) that it can fry the chip and cause the security system to trip from invalid start attempt.

Woulda been good to know.

Check fuses/relays.

Check for power to starter solenoid.

Is the starter solenoid easy to get to? If so, put the key in the ignition to the on position. Set your parking brake and put the car in park or neutral.

Then go to the starter solenoid and jump the 2 big terminals with a screwdriver/ pair of pliers.

Make sure you are clear of moving objects before doing so.

If it still doesn't start crank hit the starter with a hammer or 2x4.

If it still doesn't crank replace the starter.

I'm seriously looking at them, since I have the Hesh Skullcandy's and they aren't exactly travel friendly lol. They're decent if I'm at home, but they are kinda beefy to take anywhere.

Take it that the shoks get a good review then?

Yessir. They aren't Turtle Beaches but they are ear buds and not over the ear muffs and they aren't 5.1. lol

I have these and a set of $120 Sony (got them for free) buds. These sound a bit better than the Sony's.

My brother always used skull kandy ear buds and kept breaking them. I let him use my shoks one day and he never gave them back and I had to buy another set.

My foreman's roommate has some beats ear buds. I let him listen to my Shoks, he had me buy him a pair because he liked them more than the beats.
