Default cold air intake

I'm thinking about buying the K&N 69 typhoon series air intake for my 05 Honda accord coupe 2.4l. I'd like mpg and horsepower gain. How could are these intakes?

^^ what he said..
ive had intakes on 90% of the cars ive owned,..
98% of the time i convrted it back to STOCK airbox..and notice no difference

i have a cold air intake on my g6 and 100% swear to god..i think i wasted my money..because i STILL get the same mpg's and cant feel that "spposed" 5 to 10hp gain lol..

the ONLY cool thing about it is..when you get on the throttle itll have a tiny "hissing" sound

my advice... buy a fram air filter and replace your factory filter

Alright. So it really is a waste in your opinion? Bc I've heard ppl say that they actually do gain but the gain varies

if i actually saw real world results i wouldnt have wasted my time and money going to a junkyard and finding a stock airbox n such

i spent 120bux on a cold air intake for my g6..and ill admit it was a 100% waste of money (even made it throw a code because the MAF sensor wasnt there) so then i had to do MORE work and drill n tap the intake to fit the sensor in the pipe

take it for what you want... but id save the money..or buy a cheaper one off ebay

^^^ this. Same "gains" can be seen from an eBay intake . If your car already has a factory cold air style intake, just replace the filter and save yourself the cash.

It depends on the vehicle and stuff though. I noticed a rather large increase in power going from the stock intake to a 4'' cold air on my titan. Same with my buddies mustang. But the regular 3'' cold air intakes there was no power or some loss due to bad placement of MAF sensor and bad bends etc....

My brother has a Titan as well he got the Volant and notice a better responds.
In my Avalanche i'm running a k&n and I don't think it was a waste of money.

sometimes it takes more than 1 add-on to feel a big improvement.

cai with a freeflowing exhaust and a premium tune up will gain you some mpg's.
then a chip
