i second that. 2jz is a beast of a motor. My Lexus IS300(2jz swap with much more goodies) was easily a 170mph ride(never topped it out i just stopped)....409 rwhp dyno'd b4 having a turbo setup...this was just based on an n/a build and purely internals. No it was not a stick but ill tell ya the F1 style inspired steering wheel shift control def made it fun :-). Or Nissan 240 with a 22rbdet is a highly modifiable motor also

With top speed as your design goal, you'll want a slick mofo like the 'z' car. The rally cars like the Evo and WRX, while capable of making you power goals, might not be the best choice for top speed runs. Especially with dragging the front differential up there with you.

with those goals, it's easier to do that with an older "muscle" car. look at a 89-93 Mustang GT or 95-00 Trans Am.

Do you realize how mush would have to go into making any of those choices you stated actually go that fast? The owner of the company i work for has a 2010 Shelby Cobra GT500 stg3 shelby package 889rwhp dyno'd and that might do 200.....you are talking around 80-100k into the car including the car itself. Those cars you listed would need some serious forged block work etc.....talking big bucks

Muscle cars are gay, been there done that. I've been 180 in my t/a it was pretty easy if you could put up with how floaty it got. I'm not leaving this car stock, not even close. I'll be doing aero work as well, I don't want to come off the ground.
