Anyone find a bypass for the ELD yet?
The new accord is setup with the ELD (Electronic Load Detector) gathering data from the ECU and the engine to figure out when the alternator needs to increase the charging voltage (14.4-14.6) or run in standard, non-high output mode, (13.2-13.6). Not having the ELD bypassed from what I understand means that the amps are never seeing the full amount of power that they need, unless you are driving and the RPMS are past 2k. In the past model accords, people have been able to successfully bypass the ELD, but the new system is different.
Fire up the car with the A/C, rear defroster, lights, all being used. Watched the voltage drop to the 13's. With the bypass, you just hit the switch and the voltage goes back up to mid 14's.
